3rd October:– India celebrates Vijaya Dashmi today.

India's men's and women's kabaddi team wins gold medal in Asian Games.

4th October:– The 17th Asian Games ended in the South Korean city of Incheon with China on top spot of the medal tally with 151 gold medals. India finish 8th in the medal list with 11 gold medals. The next Asian Games will be held on Jakarta.
Chennai Super Kings wins the 2014 Champions League T20 after defeating Kolkata Knight Riders by 8 wickets in the final at Bangalore.

6th October:– India celebrates Eid.
US-British scientist John O'Keefe and Norwegian scientist May-Britt Moser and Edvard Moser win the Nobel Prize in medicine for discovering the brain's positioning system.
7th October:– The Karnataka High Court has rejected the bail plea of former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa.
Nobel Prize for Physics awarded to Japanese scientists Isamu Akasaki and Hiroshi Amano and American Shuji Nakamura for inventing a low energy environmentally friendly LED.

8th October:– American scientist Eric Betzig and William Moerner and German scientist Stefan Hell have win the Nobel Prize in chemistry for the development of super-resolved fluorescence microscopy.
9th October:– French writer Patrick Modiano has won the 2014 Nobel Prize for Literature.

10th October:– India's Child rights activist Kailash Satyarthi and Pakistan's Malala Yousafzai Win Nobel Peace Prize jointly for 2014.
Kailash Satyarthi associated with "Bachpan Bachao Andolan" movement that saves more than 80,000 children from exploitation.
Malala Yousafzai becomes the youngest Nobel Laureates at the age of 17 years.
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg meets Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

16th October:– India successfully launched Third navigation satellite IRNSS 1C on board ISRO's PSLV C26 rocket.

17th October:– India successfully test the indigenously developed nuclear capable sub-sonic cruise missile 'Nirbhay' from a test range at Chandipur.
Supreme Court granted a two-month bail to J Jayalalithaa on medical grounds and also suspended the Karnataka High Court sentence against the former Tamil Nadu chief minister in an illegal assets case.
Virat Kohli become the fastest to reach 20 ODI hundreds in 64 innings. He broke the record of Sachin Tendulkar who took 197 innings to get to the landmark.

18th October:– The Union Government has deregulated the diesel prices, which means the prices of diesel will move as per market flow not by the Government.
The West Indies Cricket team have pulled out of the India series after the fourth ODI in Dharamsala due to conflict with West Indies Cricket Board over pay dispute.
19th October:– In the state assembly election in Maharashtra and Haryana, BJP lead in both the state with 123 seats and 47 seats.

20th October:– Union Cabinet has approved ordinance on acquisition of deallocated coal mines.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) declared Nigeria as Ebola free after a 42 day period with no new cases elapsed.
123-year-old club Mohammedan Sporting of Kolkata decided to shut down due to financial problem.

21st October:– Manohar Lal Khattar elected as the next Haryana Chief Minister.
South African track star Oscar Pistorius sentenced to five years in prison for killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

22nd October:– AIBA barred Indian boxer Sarita Devi, her coaches Gurbaksh Sandhu, Sagar Dhayal and Blax Iglesias Fernandes and India's chef de mission Adile Sumariwala from its events as Sarita Devi had refused to accept her bronze medal during Asian Games.

23rd October:– India celebrates Diwali festival.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit world's highest battlefield Siachen on the eve of Diwali festival.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a 745 crore relief package for flood-hit Kashmir.
24th October:– Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) inaugurated in China in the presence of delegates from 21 countries.

25th October:– The Election Commission announced five phases state assembly election for Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand, which will be start from November 25 till December 20.
The Defence Acquisition Council of India on cleared defence deals worth Rs. 80,000 crore out of which 53,000 crore spend on building 6 submarines in India.

26th October:– 
Manohar Lal Khattar takes oath as the 10th Chief Minister of Haryana.
9 people killed and 17 others injured in a bus accident travelling from Lakhimpur to Guwahati at Nagaon in Assam.

27th October:– Union Government named eight people in the Supreme Court in connection with black money in foreign accounts.
The Supreme Court rejected a petition filed by former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's assassins Nalini Sriharan, for her early release after having served more than 14 years in jail.
Dilma Rousseff has been re-elected as the President of Brazil.

28th October:–
 The Supreme Court ask the union government to submit all names of Foreign Bank account holders by tomorrow the names of all Indians with foreign bank accounts.
Devendra Fadnavis of BJP elected as the new Chief Minister of Maharastra.
Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung reaches India on a two day visit.
