SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process shall consist of Personal Interview. However, in case applicants are large in number, screening test may be conducted.
If conducted, the Screening test shall be of Objective Type (Each question having four multiple choice answer options) of one hour duration consisting of two parts.Part-I with 50 questions having specific questions from your discipline.Part-II consists of 25 questions on vocabulary, verbal comprehension, quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability, data sufficiency, numerical ability etc.
All questions carry equal marks and there shall be no negative marks..
The Screening Test shall be held at RANCHI (JHARKHAND).Admission to the test will be on production of admit card only. Exact date and venue of examination shall be intimated through Admit Card. Candidates will have the option to appear the test/ interview in Hindi/ English medium.
In case screening test is conducted, those candidates who qualify in the screening test will only be considered for short-listing for interview as per criteria decided by the management. Screening test will be for elimination purpose only and will not carry any weightage in final merit. Selection will be done on the basis of performance in Interview only and qualifying marks in interview shall be 40% for UR and 30% for reserved category. Offer of engagement shall be sent to candidates found suitable in interview in the order of merit and depending upon the actual requirement as decided by the management.The final engagement of candidates is subject to their medical fitness.
Important Terms and Conditions of engagement
The engagement is purely temporary in nature and on contract basis for a period of two years or completion of project whichever is earlier. Contractual engagement will automatically come to an end on the expiry of aforesaid period of two years or completion of project whichever is earlier and persons will have no right or claim to continue with POWERGRID beyond the specified terms or seek regular employment.
Contract personnel will be paid consolidated monthly remuneration as under:

Contractual personnel will be entitled for Leave, medical benefits etc. as per their detailed terms & conditions of engagement (to be issued to candidates alongwith offer of engagement if selected). Further, contractual engagement will be regulated by Company’s rule and administrative orders that may be in force from time to time during the period of engagement.

Application Fee is to be paid in form of A/C Payee Demand Draft in favour of “POWER GRID CORPORATION OF INDIA LTD.” Payable at PATNA (preferably drawn on State Bank of India). Application fee is not refundable for any reason whatsoever.
SC/ST/PwD/Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted from application fee
